Il est l\u2019auteur de dix-sept volumes publi\u00e9s en vingt-neuf langues, dont Max Weber et les paradoxes de la modernit\u00e9, Paris, PUF, 2012; Juifs h\u00e9t\u00e9rodoxes. Messianisme, romantisme, utopie, Paris, l\u2019Eclat, 2010 ; Esprit de feu. Figures du romantisme anticapitaliste (avec Robert Sayre), Paris, \u00e9d. Du Sandre, 2010 ; Sociologie et religion, tome III, Approches insolites (avec Erwan Dianteill), Paris, PUF, 2009 ; Franz Kafka r\u00eaveur insoumis, Paris, Stock, 2004, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">On oppose volontiers Max Weber et Karl Marx. Certes, le grand sociologue allemand \u00e9tait un lib\u00e9ral, hostile au socialisme. Mais c\u2019\u00e9tait aussi un analyste tr\u00e8s critique du capitalisme et de sa course effr\u00e9n\u00e9e au profit qui enferme l\u2019humanit\u00e9 moderne dans un syst\u00e8me implacable.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">En partant de son r\u00e9cent livre, La cage d\u2019acier. Max Weber et le marxisme w\u00e9b\u00e9rien, Michael L\u00f6wy pr\u00e9sentera les diff\u00e9rentes filiations de ce qu\u2019il appelle le \u00ab marxisme w\u00e9b\u00e9rien\u00bb, de Gy\u00f6rgy Luk\u00e1cs \u00e0 Maurice Merleau-Ponty, en passant par les premier th\u00e9oriciens de l\u2019Ecole de Francfort.
